O Plus Health: Medicine Box with SOS Function

For the elderly, memory loss and illness are common challenges, especially when they are alone. They may encounter difficulties such as getting lost or experiencing sudden health issues. To address these concerns, Lu Yi and Zirong Zhangyang have developed O Plus Health, a medicine box with an SOS function.

The unique feature of O Plus Health is its ability to protect the safety of the elderly. The device combines phone calls, emergency medicine storage, and emergency calls into a compact and user-friendly design. With built-in SIM card and antenna, the device allows the elderly to make calls to their children or trigger emergency alarms when needed.

The compact size of O Plus Health, measuring 43mm*43mm*18mm, makes it convenient for the elderly to carry with them wherever they go. The device is charged through a magnetic charging method, ensuring ease of use and reliability.

When it comes to functionality, O Plus Health is designed to be intuitive and straightforward. To call their children for assistance, the elderly simply need to hold the device and press the call button on the side. When medication is required, they can easily access the medicine box and retrieve the necessary pills by tapping the bullet window. In the case of a serious medical emergency, the SOS button on the side can be pressed to directly call emergency services.

O Plus Health was developed in the SYID Design Studio and completed in January 2022. The design team, consisting of Lu Yi, Zirong Zhangyang, and Zengrui Li, conducted extensive research to understand the specific needs and challenges faced by the elderly. Their goal was to create a solution that integrates communication, medication, and emergency assistance in a single device.

This innovative design has been recognized for its excellence and practicality. O Plus Health was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Medical Devices and Medical Equipment category in 2022. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. O Plus Health stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.
